ULNAR NEUROPATHY (CUBITAL TUNNEL SYNDROME)

Ulnar neuropathy is the compression or shifting of the ulnar nerve near the elbow. Each time the elbow is bent, pressure on the nerve increases, pulling the ulnar nerve into the bony groove of the cubital tunnel. This reduces the supply of blood to the nerve, causing a tingling sensation in the small and ring fingers. Symptoms include numbness, weakness, or pain in the hand and pain on the inner side of the elbow. This pain and numbness is typically limited to the last two fingers of the hand and is often caused by flexing the elbow for long periods time.
